How to pack the right way!

Moving Day

At A+ Movers, we offer a smooth transition from your current location to your final destination.

Some useful tips for your moving day are listed below!

Moving Tips:

  • Enjoy the help! Leave the rest to the professionals, sit back and relax and look forward to the new place. Also, get a good nights rest the night before!
  • Start packing as soon as you find out you're moving. It will make it a lot easier in the long-run.
  • Tag or Label boxes so you can easily distinguish what they contain for easier placement.
  • Use generous amounts of packing-paper inside to keep items safe and secure.
  • Remove light bulbs and lamp shades prior to moving.
  • Pack heavy - Pack light. Pack heavy items in small boxes and lighter items in larger boxes.
  • Seperate breakables from non-breakables.
  • Pack all boxes tightly, makes for better transporting.
  • Don't forget about the Fridge! After thoroughly cleaned, place fresh coffee or baking soda in a sock or nylon stocking and place it inside to keep the interior smelling fresh.

Packing Materials

Here at A+ Movers, we use only top quality products for our customers to insure the highest care for their posessions and belongings. Some of these products include, plastic wrap, bubble wrap, boxes, rubber bands, moving pads, packing paper and tape. Each of these products serves its own unique purpose in the process. These products are carried at your local home improvement store such as, Home Depot or Lowes. Listed below are a few of the most commonly used products by our company during the packing and moving process. Please contact us for more information and pricing!

Plastic Wrap:

Plastic wrap is used to stretch films to wrap and protect furniture, keep doors and drawers closed and bundle odd shapred tools and sports equipment. The elasticity of the stretched film keeps items secure and tightly packed. Average cost is $22.00 per 20in by 1000 ft.

Bubble Wrap:

Bubble wrap is can cushion to secure and protect fragile items while moving and shipping. The wrap features perforations every 12in for easy dispensing. It provides better protection than loose fill or paper. Average cost is $16.00 per 3/16in by 12in by 100 ft.

Boxes:

Boxes come in many differnet sizes depending on what you need or are planning on packing in each one. They come in small, medium, large and wardrobe sizes with the cost of each varying. Boxes are the most used item in any move and more or less essential. Average cost per box for small-large is $0.75 to $1.50 and $10.00 for a wardrobe box.

How to pack the right way!

Packing is essential for a good move and it is necessary no matter the size of the move. If you choose to do some or all of your own packing in preparationf or your move, it's especially important that you be familar with the technique that will best protect your posessions. A+ Mover's packing tips listed below can provide more information to assist you in this process.

Over the years of doing business, we have found that many people prefer to have their posessions, especially fragile and delicate items, packaged professionally by a moving company. Our employee's have many hours of training to perform this job at a professional level with proven techniques.

Some items may need custom crating, such as large mirrors, glass-top tables or chandeliers. While there is usually an additional charge for this service, crating will provide an additional level of protection for specific items.

Packing Tips:

  • Plan how you will pack. Pack items first that you don't use often.
  • Start packing as soon as you find out you're moving. It will make it a lot easier in the long-run.
  • Never pack flammable objects/items.
  • Use generous amounts of packing-paper inside to keep items safe and secure.
  • List contents and room on the outside of the boxes, makes for easier placement and unpacking.
  • Clearly mark "fragile" on the outside of boxes.
  • Seperate breakables from non-breakables.
  • Pack all boxes tightly, makes for better transporting.
